SUMMARY:Solar Finance For Congregations Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join IPL’s annual Solar Financing for Congregations webinar on June 13 to learn about ways to finance solar for your congregation\, including an overview of Direct Pay and a testimonial from a congregation that has already filed for it. \nThe webinar will be on June 13 at 12 pm Eastern. \nMark your calendars\, and register here. \nWith the passage of the historic climate legislation that offers nonprofits a discount on renewable energy investments\, many more congregations are considering solar. \nThe webinar will start with the different ways congregations can finance solar from Jerry Bernstein\, who has coached many IPL congregations in going solar. \nThen we’ll get an overview of Direct Pay from Miguel Yanez\, from the Environmental and Energy Study Institute\, with the latest updates. \nMaggie Chappen\, the Senior Warden from St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Lewisburg\, Pennsylvania\, will share her experience filing for Direct Pay for their solar installation. Her testimonial picks up after the last webinar IPL co-sponsored on pre-registration for direct pay filing. \nFinally\, we’ll hear from our friends at Energy Sage\, an electrification marketplace helping IPL congregations find solar and heat pump installers in many states. \nRegister here for the Solar Financing for Congregations Webinar. \nInvite your congregation’s building committee\, governing board\, or green team to join the webinar to get inspired to take action to heal the climate at your house of worship. \nFaith communities are building a movement of people of faith and conscience that shows the world that we can all take concrete and achievable steps to safeguard the climate for future generations.

SUMMARY:Gov. Shapiro's Energy Plan Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Zoom Webinar on Tuesday\, March 26th 2024 – 7-8 PM \nGovernor Shapiro has released his Clean Energy Plan\, which lays out two major policies: \nPA Reliable Energy Sustainability Standard (PRESS)-  This expands the current Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard to reach 35% clean energy by 2035\, adds a third tier and includes new resources. \nPa Climate Emissions Reduction Initiative (PACER) –  This PA specific cap and invest program caps carbon emissions and requires polluters to purchase allowances. PA will set the price for allowances. Unlike RGGI\, PACER will include a refund to customers to bring down their energy bills and insure that no one’s bills will increase. \nREGISTER \nWe hope you can join us for a lively discussion. The webinar is free and brought to you by Quaker Action Mid-Atlantic Region (QAMAR).

SUMMARY:Climate Action Workshop - 9/18 (Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Learn How to Support passage of vital clean energy legislation for PA\n \nHB1467 has been introduced in the House of Representatives\, and a companion bill in the Senate\, SB230.  These bills will do two extremely important things: \n\nRaise the amount of renewable energy in our electricity mix from 8% to 30% by 2030\, with 14% of that being local solar.\nEnable Community Solar statewide.\n\nThese bills are the most important clean energy legislation this session\, and they will need all of us working together to get across the finish line. \nJoin us for an “Action Workshop” on Monday\, September 18th\, 7:30 – 8:30 PM via Zoom. We will provide an in-depth review of these bills and dive into the actions needed to insure their success. \nREGISTER HERE (for the Zoom Link) \nIt’s “All hands on deck”time to address the climate crisis. \nThank you! \n— Liz Robinson\, Bruce Birchard\, Stephen Loughin\, Pat Finley\, Burt Dallas and Bryan Miller\,\nBoard Members of Quaker Action Mid-Atlantic Region
