ABOUT US

Who we are

Quaker Action Mid-Atlantic Region (Quaker Action) is an advocacy nonprofit rooted in Quaker values and open to F/friends of all faiths who share the vision of a just, sustainable, and equitable world. We believe that faith calls us not only to reflection, but to action, and that people of conscience have a deep responsibility to promote justice, protect communities, and restore creation.

We work at the state and local levels across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Our current priorities: defending democracy, addressing climate change, and ending gun violence, reflect the urgent concerns of our members and the communities we serve. We pursue this work in close collaboration with civic, environmental, and faith-based partners across the region, because we know that lasting change requires all of us.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to empowering people to take action. Quaker Action trains its members on the issues and skills of effective advocacy, such as how to meet with elected officials, how to make the cases for policies that protect public health and safety, strengthen community resilience, and restore the environment. Every person of conscience has a role to play. All faiths are welcome. If you share our values, this is the place for you.

OUR MISSION

To effect policy change and advance us toward a just and sustainable future in harmony with all of creation.
