Don't Let Big Oil Off the Hook

Big oil and gas companies are trying to avoid accountability for climate change, and we need your voice to stop them.
We need 100,000 signatures by April 30th. Sign the petition today.
Why does it matter?
Climate change does more than make April feel like August — it's an existential threat to life on earth. It's already driving up our insurance premiums, utility bills, and disaster-related losses, potentially costing your household hundreds to over $1,000 annually. Across the US, this amounts to hundreds of billions of dollars.
Oil and gas companies knew as early as the 1950s that their products were contributing to the greenhouse effect, melting ice caps, and submerging coastal cities. Despite this evidence, they've avoided accountability for decades. Now they're trying to make that permanent.
What are they doing? Oil and gas lobbyists are urging Congress to pass a blanket legal immunity shield that would:
Protect Big Oil from any laws or lawsuits holding them accountable for their role in the climate crisis
Follow the model of the 2005 law protecting gun manufacturers from lawsuits
Set a harmful legal precedent that protects corporations instead of communities
More than 1 in 4 Americans already live in a state taking Big Oil to court. This shield would end that.
The question is simple: who should pay for the climate crisis — communities or the corporations that caused it?
What can you do?
Sign the petition — Tell Congress: No Immunity for Big Oil!
Share this with your neighbors, congregations, and friends to have your community's voice heard
We stand with every community in the region working toward a more peaceful, sustainable, and equitable world.
