Why does it matter?

• Protect Big Oil from any laws or lawsuits holding them accountable for their role in the climate crisis

• Follow the model of the 2005 law protecting gun manufacturers from lawsuits

• Set a harmful legal precedent that protects corporations instead of communities

More than 1 in 4 Americans already live in a state taking Big Oil to court. This shield would end that.
